This is a custom refresher course designed to aid individual certified divers in need of refresher training and mentorship.
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you are in need of a refresher course.
SCUBA Diving KSA's are perishable. That means, if you don't use them, you lose them. Especially for new divers and those still in the early stages of development. Many divers take their basic course and don't dive again for a year or more, effectively losing all that new knowledge and those new skills they just learned.
Diving skills can also deviate into something else all-together over time, without you even realizing it. Without being kept in check, pre-dive checks become shorter, steps begin to get missed, and even deviant behaviors begin to push boundaries. As we grow more confident with our skills, especially early on in our diving careers, we begin to miss things, and our confidence can outpace our actual skill level.
PDC's SCUBA Diver Refresher Course is custom tailored to meet your needs, will reenforce basics, and challenge you to grow a bit, certifying you safe to get back in the water without supervision.
The SDRC is a single day-long course with informal lectures, knowledge and skills practice, and 2 open water dives. It may also include a day prior in confined water if necessary, depending on the needs of the individual(s). The course is custom tailored to meet the specific needs of each diver, within the limitations of each individual's respective certification level, and includes a strong focus on all basic diving KSA's, as well as mentorship to improve a diver's abilities.
Note: All divers who have not conducted an open water dive within 12 calendar months should take a refresher course to maintain currency.
This course is an 8 to 12 hour block of instruction and mentorship program.
