We start by traveling to the base of Mt. Fuji, where we will climb to the top the next day, stay the night, and watch the sun rise the following morning from the top of Japan!
Then we'll climb back down and travel to Motosuko, the 5th lake of Fuji, where we'll check in to our cabin by the lake for some camping amongst the trees, away from it all.
Day three and four will have us diving at altitude at several sites around Motosu Lake, where you'll see frozen lava flows and a sunken tree grave yard. If you are NOT certified as an Altitude Diver, you'll be able to complete your course and get certified while there.

NOTICE!
This trip requires strict adherence to scheduling each day in order to make ferry departure timelines. If timelines are missed, it will mean spending an extra day at the current location. Accommodations may or may not be possible to secure! This means, if the group is not able to keep with a schedule, or if you want more time for your group, we will plan one extra night at each location, thereby extending the trip schedule out longer, to make it less "rushed" and more "relaxed".
For all tours, please understand that Japan has a lot of tourism, both domestic and international, and both dive operators and hotels do get fully booked well in advance. PDC will work hard to secure all reservations, and we are sometimes able to squeeze in some divers into dive operators schedules even if they say they are fully booked. However, we can make no promises on success for any last minute reservation requests. Please be advised, messaging us for a last minute tour reservation is not recommended. We will work to make your tour happen to the best of our abilities, of course, but it is far better to plan your tour well in advance of the timeframe you wish to visit us.
For most Japanese businesses, once reservations are locked in, they expect 100% that they will be kept. Please be advised that culturally Japan is very different from the rest of the world. In the rest of the world, you can make reservations and cancel anytime, even the day of, without penalty or negative feelings. However, here in Japan, making reservations at a place is treated the same as making a "promise", and keeping your promises is keeping your Honor. If you cancel, we (PDC) will completely understand and respect that, but the operators and hotels and limo/bus services, and anyone else involved will not. They will expect payment regardless, and our company's reputation will suffer. So please be advised, we will wait to make reservations with any operator, hotel, or service provider, until your group is fully set on dates and committed to the tour, and until after payment in-full for the tour has been made. Once reservations are made, if you do have to cancel, we completely understand, however, please know we will have already paid for those reservations in advance to secure them, and despite our best efforts, we might not be able to get full refunds, if at all. Thank you so very much for your understanding in this matter.
Diving costs for each dive location on all tours will be based on the advertised pricing for each facility we use at the time of reservations.
When you register for a tour, unless otherwise specified, PDC will facilitate all transportation needs for you and your group. We will pick you up at a specified location (group size dependent), and transport you and your luggage to each location on the tour. Transportation costs may depend on the size of your group. For smaller groups, transportation costs may be minimal, including fuel costs, toll road costs, driver fees, and administrative costs (liability insurance, weight tax, etc.). For larger groups that require rental of several vans, mini bus, or even a full-sized tour bus, costs will include rental costs, fuel costs, toll road costs, driver fees, and administrative costs (liability insurance, weight tax, etc.). We will provide you with a cost estimate for all transportation costs up front (during the planning phase), but please be advised that any overages during the trip, such as detours for example, will be billed separately. If you decide to make your own travel arrangements, that's ok too! PDC will meet you at each location according to the tour schedule, and will remain in contact with you at all times to provide guidance, assistance, and recommendations. However, please be advised we will not be responsible for any no-shows or missed dives.
Unless otherwise discussed or other arrangements are made, PDC will provide you with a cost estimate for all accommodations up front (during the planning phase) for your tour. Our intent is to locate and reserve acceptable accommodations to meet your groups size and needs nearest each dive location, and to minimize costs by minimizing relocations as much as possible. If two dive locations are close to each other, we will try to find accommodations that allow transportation to each site without the need to relocate. If you decide to make your own accommodation arrangements, here too, that's completely ok! Again, PDC will meet you at each location according to the tour schedule, and will remain in contact with you at all times to provide guidance, assistance, and recommendations. However, please be advised we will not be responsible for any no-shows or missed dives. Furthermore, regardless if you make your own accommodation reservations or not, dive guide costs and dive guide accommodation costs, as detailed below, will still be included in the tour cost. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
PDC professional divers will accompany you every day on your tour. We charge ¥15,000 plus VAT, per day, per professional guide, as our standard rate guide fee. If our guides are the drivers driving your group, we charge that same rate as the driver fee so there is no added costs. Our guides are necessary because local dive shops often will not take care of your group. PDC will make all reservations, do all the hard work, make all arrangements, schedule and plan all dives, and take care of your group personally on all trips at each location. Other shops and guides often charge rates per dive, and most charge significantly more, at rates of ¥20,000, ¥25,000, or more. As foreigners ourselves, we are very, very aware of what diving costs are like elsewhere in the world, and our goal is to make your trip here as enjoyable and memorable as possible, so that means we also want to make it as affordable as possible for you and your group too.
Please understand, these are multi-day trips, often at great distances from where PDC staff live. Our guides will be with you every day to take care of your group, so the cost for their travel expenses, including accommodations, will be included in the price of the tour. Thank you greatly for your understanding.
PDC charges a 20% administrative fee for all tours. This fee is necessary to make all tours possible. We make all arrangements, everything from transportation (unless otherwise discussed), to reservations, scheduling, dive plans, accommodations (unless otherwise discussed), equipment needs and provisions, emergency repairs if needed, and we even prepare all necessary documentation for local regulations, communicate between operators and facilities, and more. These things have a cost, and this is why we charge this fee. Thank you greatly for your understanding.
If you choose NOT to bring your own equipment, PDC can provide groups with equipment or make arrangements for all equipment to be provided (for larger groups). PDC charges ¥8,000 per diver per day for rental equipment. HOWEVER, it is STRONGLY advised that every diver bring their own equipment, OR at the very least, every diver bring at a minimum: their own wetsuit (5mm full body for summer) or drysuit (seasonally dependent or if diving at Motosuko), wetsuit boots, their own mask (masks are very personal items for both fit and comfort), dive computer, logbook (you must have a logbook), and certification card(s) (you must provide proof of certification(s)). Please expect that the majority of places do not provide these things, and if they do, things such as wetsuits often do not fit westerners. So bringing your own is highly recommended. We can not guarantee a fitting wetsuit while here, and for safety reasons, we do not rent out drysuits.
Japan charges a VAT rate of 10% for our industry, so please understand that 10% tax (VAT) will be added to the total cost.
If there are any other things you and your group would like to do either before or after your tour, or that might be possible to facilitate during the tour, PDC will do our best to facilitate and accommodate. Many groups have cultural interests, or long-awaited aspirations of visiting specific sites, or seeing certain events, and more. PDC is capable, willing, and able, to help facilitate these things for individuals and groups provided they are communicated in advance so we have time to make proper arrangements. So please do not hesitate to ask or let us know.
If you wish to find your own means of transportation (such as public transportation or a rental vehicle), and/or if you wish to find your own accommodations, in order to reduce total cost for a tour, please communicate these things with us in advance, and we will quote your tour minus those costs. Groups who opt to find their own transportation and accommodations may find significant savings, however, shall be 100% responsible for arriving at each location on time. Thank you.
If you wish take one of our tours, but only want PDC to make reservations at each of the dive locations listed on the tour schedule, and nothing more (as in, you want to go by yourselves), please communicate this in advance, and PDC will only quote you for the dive costs at each location, plus a reservation fee. Groups who opt for this option must still pay in advance, and shall be 100% responsible for making it to each location on the date of their reservations. Please understand, each location will still charge a "guide fee" for your group at their shop's own rates. You may be responsible for other fees incurred during your visit as well. Thank you.
Do NOT use a US Government computer or email address to fill out this form! It will get flagged and filtered in the government system and will not go through! Please use a personal computer or smart phone, and a personal email address for all contact forms on our website. Thank you.
If you would like register for any PDC tour listed above, or if you are trying to make your own custom tour, please use this form to get the process started. We will respond to get as much information as able, and then make all the arrangements for you and/or your group.
To register for any tour with PDC (or to inquire about creating your own tour for a group), simply fill out the form above on this page. Please list the name and dates (if known) of the tour you desire to join, list your full legal name, age, any equipment rental needs (or tell us if you plan to bring your own), and provide us with a detailed message as applicable.
Unfortunately no. We do not accept reservations for any of our tours via social media. To register for any of our listed tours, you must fill out and submit the form above.
Cash is only acceptable for single dive destinations within the local area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Yamanashi) during normal fun-diving weekends, when reservations can be made locally. For any and all tours that require travel to a destination--both across Japan and internationally--payment in advance is required. Both credit and debit card payments may be made easily online via an online invoice sent to your email address from PDC (JDE) through Square. Additionally, bank transfers are possible for payment too.
Unless otherwise noted, mentioned in a post, or arrangements have been made with us by direct or email communication, deadlines for reservations to join in on any listed tour are typically no less than 60 days prior, however, the earlier the better.
Please contact us and let us know you desire to join but need to pay at a date after the deadline. We're very reasonable and understanding when it comes to individual needs. In many cases, we can work something out to help you reserve your seat for a tour, and pay on a later date when you're able.
Diving Tours are typically just for divers. That is their intent. However, if you are not a diver, and accompanying a diver on the tour, please let us know, and we can assure you get to join too at a discounted rate.
Absolutely! All tours are family friendly, and the more friends the better!
Everything depends. Where are you located? What time of year is it currently? What are the tour dates? Where is the tour going to? What are YOUR needs? Are we able to conduct the full course prior? These are all important questions, and PDC is 100% willing to help you answer them. Please communicate with us your interests and needs, and we'll do our best to help.
If your a diver joining one of our dive tours, you most likely will not have time for other activities during the day. We will be diving, of course.
If you register for a tour, OR if PDC makes advanced reservations for you at any destination in Japan, and you need to cancel for any reason, we completely understand. However, please also understand that some things may not be refundable after a certain period of time. Many hotels (for example) may refuse refunds for reservations made, or may only offer partial refunds up to a certain date, and shops at dive destinations also maintain their own cancellation policies as well.
Dive tours / advanced reservation costs with PDC are typically divided into the following components:
Refunds for PDC tours and advanced reservations therefore follow the current policy parameters:
